Self-employed Mortgage and Protection Adviser
We are seeking Mortgage Brokers who truly care about what they do and how they do it. You’ll have a combination of your own client book and capacity to handle qualified referrals, either working remotely or based from Less Stress Mortgages headquarters in Ampthill, Bedfordshire (near the M1 junction 12).
You should have:
- CeMap (or equivalent) and ‘CAS’ status
- a minimum of 3 years experience
- a good portfolio of clients
- ability to work independently but be part of a close knit organisation

About the Role
Less Stress Mortgages is a directly authorised, fast-growing, customer-focused mortgage brokerage based in Bedfordshire. We are now expanding our partnership with a leading Estate Agents in Luton, and we’re looking for a motivated and professional Mortgage & Protection Adviser to be based in their busy branch.
You’ll receive a consistent high volume of leads and provide tailored mortgage and protection advice to buyers, sellersand landlords helping them secure the right financial solutions as they move through the property journey. With the support of our dedicated admin team at our Silsoe headquarters, you’ll be able to focus on giving exceptional advice and growing your client base.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide regulated mortgage and protection advice to clients introduced by Estate Agents.
- Work closely with estate agency staff to maximise referral opportunities.
- Conduct thorough client fact-finds to understand individual needs and circumstances.
- Recommend suitable mortgage and insurance products from our comprehensive panel of lenders and providers. Less Stress are a whole of market broker.
- Build strong relationships with buyers, sellers, and the team to drive business growth.
- Keep up to date with market changes, lender criteria, and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with our dedicated Less Stress Mortgages support team, who will handle paperwork, application submissions, and case progression.
- Deliver excellent customer service, ensuring clients are guided smoothly from initial enquiry through to completion.
About You
- CeMAP (or equivalent) qualified – essential.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Mortgage & Protection Adviser.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and delivering quality advice.
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
- Highly motivated, proactive, and able to work independently within a busy estate agency environment.
- Full UK driving licence required.
